This review is from: Vivitar 19-35mm Series One Zoom Lens for Canon-AF Camera (Electronics) Typically, as far as the quality of glass goes, lens produced 20 years ago had much higher standards then they do now, mostly because with so many cameras shooting with crop sensors, only the quality of the very center of the lens matters. This lens however, was made for film shooting where quality could not be compromised. You can easily find this lens at a low price because many people avoid third party used lenses, and the autofocus is very loud, but the image quality is very good for the price. Look up this lens on google, and you will find many glowing reviews on several photography forums. This lens certainly better than most crop sensor kit lenses, simply because of the glass quality and the faster max aperture, and definitely worth it if you have a larger sensor. I would recommend this lost gem to pretty much anyone. The only cons are loud autofocus, no full time manual focus, rotating front element, and a pretty expensive 77mm filter size. I am using this lens on canon 1d.
