Quality is superior. Is almost at the Canon "L" series level. It's lighter, more compact & weighs less. Very satisfied with the photos I've taken. A serious contender. I shot a roll of Agfa Precisa 100 and the results were remarkable. Very accurate colors and excellent contrast. If you have to travel light, this is the lens to carry. If you plan on using it on a digital camera, it's still fairly wide at a film equivalent of 38 mm at the low end of the zoom.
